KASHI! an ancient city of INDIA that has been referred in Rig Veda is one of the most ancient Hindu sacred places of worship. Kashi is derived from the words Kaś that translates ‘to shine’. Kashi is thus also known as the ‘city of light’. A story that comes from Ancient texts of Purana is that Lord Brahma once weighed the heavens against Kashi & Kashi being heavier sank from the skies towards the earth & all the gods who lived there rose upward towards the skies or heaven, Kashi does not bring new wonders into the scope of vision but enables one to see what is already there which is heaven on earth where Gods once lived.
